Vision and Mission Statement

Origination: Our church’s Immigration Task Force was originally sponsored by and continues in collaboration with the church’s Outreach and Guatemala Partnership Committees.

Our vision: All refugees and immigrants, regardless of status, are welcome as children of God in our church community.

Our mission: The immigration Task Force seeks to encourage dialogue and raise consciousness regarding immigration as a faith issue.  Through collaborative relationships with immigrant-serving organizations and policy makers, we work to promote justice for immigrants.  In this we follow a faith-based call to education and action.

Afterword: We believe that this mission explicitly extends and deepens the covenant of our church.

When an alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien.  The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.  I am the Lord your God.
