The church’s covenant serves as the foundation for the Outreach Committee’s social action and justice work. We feel that the identity of the church should reflect the ideas of the covenant , and we strive to do this in all that we do whether supporting social justice issues, allocating funds to support the work of a number of agencies, or educating the congregation about mission and justice issues and concerns.

Outreach is responsible for disbursement of the bulk of the church’s charitable giving. In trying to be faithful stewards of these funds, the committee sorts through the numerous requests for donations each year and decides which agencies to support. The committee strives to balance giving locally, regionally, nationally and internationally among organizations that reflect the values and beliefs of the members of our church.

Each year, the largest recipient of our Outreach funds is Our Church’s Wider Mission, the mission funding agency of the United Church of Christ. This fund supports local congregations, Conference ministers, and national and global missions. For a full listing of Outreach allocations in 2016, please refer to the church’s ANNUAL REPORT.
